A lovely family residing in Paris is seeking a friendly, professional, creative educator to teach and mentor their two-hardworking girls.

As a tutor/teacher you will be responsible for educating the children following the British curriculum. This includes all subjects: science, biology, history, geography, design and technology, PSHE, Citizenship as well as religious education. Music and art is important to the children and Maths, numeracy, grammar and English literacy will also be required.

The family have an open approach to learning and prefers the children to use the environment around them as their classroom. They would also like to use technology as an aid in learning in order to keep them at the same level as their peers.

At present the children attend an English and French speaking school but may in the foreseeable future prefer to be home schooled. In 2018 the family will relocate to England and the girls will attend a top independent school. Entry into such schools must be prepared for along with relevant exams such as 7+ & 11+.

Structured classes for the children will be required but this should be kept to a minimum with no additional homework. Instead the children should have the freedom to explore their own interests and be encouraged to be independent learners.

In addition to the above duties the tutor/teacher will also escort them to and from extra curriculum activities, take the children on excursions and manage such schedules when arriving to new locations.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, energetic, kind, well mannered, open minded to teaching, active and creative – someone who is capable of adapting their classes to different environments, making each location a new learning experience and linking in with the interests of the children. The teacher/tutor will hold a PGCE and have extensive knowledge of the British curriculum and experience of independent schools (Cambridge is preferred).

Ideally speaking French to a high standard is required as further tuition may be required.

The family home is fully staffed and you will work alongside the children’s nannies.

This is a live out position with a studio apartment provided.

You will be required to travel with the family.

A competitive salary is on offer to the right candidate.

Interviews taking place ASAP with an aim to commence in the role as soon as the tutor/teacher is available.
