A native English Governess / Governor is required to join a Russian family in Izhevsk summer to assist with the care, education,  recreational activities and behavior management for their 7-year-old son. The family is seeking a a Governess / Governor who will not only be a great tutor but become a part of the family.

As a Governess/Governor you will be required to work daily with the child providing fun and educational activities and classes along with engaging and interactive play. You will assist with daily routines and provide lots of opportunities for the child to listen to the English language. The focus will be on conversational skills and extending vocabulary.

Additional duties will include meeting the child’s daily needs, accompanying to and from school, walks in the park, daily caring tasks, teaching etiquette and encouraging independence. you will be required to travel with the family and during this time you will need to arrange cultural and leisure activities (excursions, visits to the theatres etc.)

The boy is at beginner level and has been learning English at his kindergarten and with a Russian speaking tutor, already understanding a lot but requires expansion and activation of passive vocabulary and development in communicative skills. He is very inquisitive, loves to learn, loves music, singing and dancing; has experience of mastering the piano and will be happy to continue the classes with the governess/tutor if they can play. Additionally he is a great swimmer and is beginning to play tennis.

The child is sensitive so it is important to implement a calm and balanced approach to teaching.

There is an older sibling in the household who will be studying in Switzerland from September 2016.

The Governess / Governor will be required to communicate in English with the mother and provide classes with her while the boy is at school.

It would be beneficial if the candidate speaks Russian and has a musical education but this is not essential.

The working schedule is 6 days on 1 day off (Sunday), about 8 hours a day. Working Hours will start at 10 or 11 am.

This is a live out position with a separate apartment provided near the family home. Visa & travel related expenses will be covered by the family.

Salary £800-£1000 per week depending on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.

Interviews to take place ASAP and position to commence in August or September 2016. Trial days can be arranged in Switzerland 20th – 25th August

Requirements:
• Native English speaker
• Relevant Childcare and/or Teaching qualifications
• Experience of working with children of this age
• Energetic, enthusiastic, patient, professional
• Ability to speak Russian and musical education is an advantage
• Available to start in September 2016
