A British family in London is seeking a professional and experienced educator to teach and mentor their two young boys.

As a Governor /Governess you will be responsible for providing a home-schooling program to educate the children following the British curriculum (all subjects). In addition the children enjoy sports and music (guitar).

The children have been home-schooled for the past 1.5 years. Academically they are achieving well and on par with their peers. Due to their parents working schedule a home-schooling education suits their needs. The children are sporty, full of energy, well behaved and well mannered.

The parents travel frequently and the children join them on their longer trips. The Governor/Governess will be required to travel with the family and provide the children’s education along the way.

Structured classes for the children will be required as well as teaching life skills and acting an appropriate mentor. The children should have the freedom to explore their own interests and be encouraged to be independent learners.

In addition to the above duties the Governor/Governess will also escort them to and from extra curriculum activities, take the children on excursions and manage such schedules when arriving to new locations.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, energetic, well mannered, open minded to teaching, active and someone who is capable of adapting their classes to different environments, making each location a new learning experience and linking in with the interests of the children. The Governor/Governess will hold a PGCE and have extensive knowledge of the British curriculum. Experience of working in private households is desirable and an interest in sports and/or music (guitar) would be beneficial.

This is a live out position – suited to candidates with their own accommodation. Accommodation will be provided during travel.
